Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Park Caretaker I to maintain park land and facilities for public use. This entry-level role performs routine maintenance under supervision and supports seasonal tasks to keep trails, turf, and amenities in good condition.

Winter duties include litter pickup, snow and ice removal, and outdoor ice maintenance; summer duties cover turf, irrigation, litter removal, field upkeep, and event support. Occasional additional duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
• Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver's license at the time of hire.
• All required licenses must remain current for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine park maintenance under general supervision.
• Winter duties: litter collection, snow and ice removal, outdoor ice maintenance, track setting, trail grooming and maintenance, special event preparation and support.
• Summer duties: turf and irrigation maintenance, removal and cleanup of campsites, litter collection, athletic and multiuse field maintenance, trail maintenance, park fence and barrier repairs, repairs to shelters and equipment.
• General grounds and facility care and other duties as assigned.
