Job summary

Harford County is seeking a maintenance worker for Parks and Recreation facilities and County-owned properties. The role involves varied tasks from landscape care to minor repairs, with supervision initially and independent work as skills grow.

Salary range listed, with a budgeted annual salary; includes on-call duties during snowstorms and potential overtime, with comprehensive county benefits. A valid Class C driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• One year of experience in building maintenance, ground maintenance, landscaping or farming work.

Responsibilities

• Grooms ball diamonds; erects soccer and football goal posts, repairs fencing and backstops, basketball backboards, nets, and rims.
• Removes trash from parks, playgrounds, and other areas.
• Performs light janitorial work.
• Operates equipment such as riding mowers, string trimmers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, infield machines, utility tractors, skid loaders, and woodchippers.
• Drives pickups, SUVs, vans, and utility trucks.
