Job summary

Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily operations of recreation facilities, ensure safety and cleanliness, and coordinate repairs and seasonal staffing. The role includes managing equipment, irrigation and field conditions, and supporting Okun Fieldhouse operations.

The position requires 1 year of facility maintenance experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year facility maintenance experience.
• Must be 21 or older.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic mathematical and accounting skills.
• Computer software: Microsoft Office Suites.
• Oral communication skills, including presentations to individuals and small groups.
• Time management skills including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or tasks and meet daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational oversight of recreation sports complexes and facilities, ensuring high standards of upkeep, safety, and readiness for public use.
• Coordinates and monitors routine facility repairs, maintenance activities, and ensures permits/licenses are current.
• Evaluates field conditions to determine safe playability for leagues, tournaments, and special events.
• Directs seasonal staff in routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment upkeep.
• Operates and maintains light/medium-duty equipment and performs routine inspections.
• Maintains irrigation systems and backflow prevention program for efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in development and implementation of yearly maintenance plan and supports Okun Fieldhouse operations.
• Leads development of a high performing organization aligned with county pillars of performance.
