Job summary

Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) is seeking a Park Maintenance staff member to care for sports fields, outdoor spaces, and related facilities. The role includes building maintenance, trash removal, restroom upkeep, and basic operations of grounds equipment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with grounds maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends to support events and programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all outdoor fields and indoor courts to safe play standards.
• Perform building maintenance tasks as applicable.
• Assist with trash collection, restroom cleaning, and stocking supplies.
• Operate grounds equipment such as trimmers, mowers, blowers, and carts.
• Set up for sporting events and assist with facility prep.
• Power wash, window cleaning and general facility upkeep.
• Follow safety procedures and obtain background checks as required.

Job Description

• Position performs park maintenance for JCPRD sports fields, including baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
• This position also performs building maintenance as applicable.
• Responsible for maintaining all outdoor fields and indoor courts at a level of excellence to ensure safe play and patron satisfaction.
• Eligible candidates will be responsible for maintenance tasks that include trash collection and removal, cleaning and stocking restrooms, performing daily and routine facility preparation tasks, and overall facility maintenance.
• Grounds work includes string trimming, mowing, tree trimming, and landscape maintenance.
• Facility Maintenance to include window cleaning, power washing, setting up for sporting events, floor care, and restroom cleaning.
• Candidates will be trained to operate equipment including trimmers, blowers, mowers, utility carts, tractors, cleaning equipment, as well as various hand tools.
