Job summary

Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) seeks an experienced Aquatics Supervisor to oversee daily aquatic facility operations, staffing, and programming. The role includes budgeting, staff training, and coordination of lifeguard certification courses throughout the year.

You will collaborate with the Aquatics Manager to ensure safe, engaging programs, marketing, and compliance with certifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Recreation or related field (experience may substitute).
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
One year supervisory experience.
One year of recreation programming.

Responsibilities

Oversees day-to-day operations of aquatic facilities, including scheduling of part-time/seasonal staff for aquatic facilities to support programming.
Develops and administers program operating budgets, including establishing program fees, planning for equipment, and staffing needs.
Assists in the marketing of programs through the website, social media, and other marketing opportunities.
Coordinates and instructs American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses throughout the year.
Provides support to the Aquatics Specialist and Manager.
