Job summary

The City of Parkland seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee Public Works facilities operations. You will manage staff, plan maintenance, and supervise contractor work to ensure efficient, safe facilities and projects.

Strong leadership and budgeting skills are essential, as is proficiency with MS Office and reporting. Applicants should have an Associate’s degree and at least seven years in public works or related fields, including three years of supervisory experience; FEMA certifications

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; seven years in public works or related field with supervisory experience.
• FEMA certifications 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, train, assign, and supervise daily activities of maintenance staff.
• Direct operations for maintenance, repairs, and construction within the division.
• Plan and implement maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
• Develop specifications for maintenance by contractors and review contractor work.
• Perform inspections and identify causes of failures or defects.
• Prepare reports, budgets, and recommendations for Public Works projects.
