Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Event Assistant to support the City Parks & Rec Department in Ann Arbor. You will assist the Recreation Supervisor with event logistics, scheduling, and on-site implementation across parks and venues to create community experiences.

This role requires 18+, High School diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work weekends and evenings. CPR/AED and First Aid certification must be obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and graduate from High School or possession of GED.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills as well as attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
• Friendly, pleasant and outgoing personality suitable for working with a diverse community.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate events and program logistics including scheduling, site set up, and day of implementation.
• Collaborate with team members to refine event processes and enhance community experiences.
• Provide excellent customer service to event and program attendees, helping to address their needs and resolve issues or concerns.
• Assist in the loading, transportation, set up, take down and proper storage of event equipment and supplies.
• Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback from the community.
• Assist in the implementation and enforcing of safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all attendees.
