Job summary

City of Eaton Rapids seeks an energetic coordinator to manage parks, recreation and events. You will set sport schedules, supervise staff and referees, and report on activities to the Director. This role requires strong communication, data handling, and capability to work evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities include budgeting support, facility coordination, grant pursuits, and collaboration with city departments. Prior supervisory experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• College coursework in sport management or related field preferred.
• Must hold a valid Michigan driver's license and pass background checks.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating programs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience working with children is helpful.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel required; familiarity with Adobe/Canva preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate parks, recreation and event activities and schedules.
• Oversee sports referees and supervise outdoor recreation staff.
• Prepare reports on ongoing parks and recreation activities.
• Develop inventory of supplies and submit purchase orders.
• Assist in planning city-wide events and marketing materials.
• Manage the Outdoor Recreation Center and assist with budgeting.
