Job summary

The City of Apache Junction is seeking a Parks Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, maintenance and repairs on park equipment and small tools. Work includes inspecting, diagnosing and correcting minor mechanical problems and assisting with shop operations.

You will also order and deliver parts, support inventory control, and ensure safety procedures are followed while maintaining a safe work environment in a dynamic park setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year paid experience diagnosing, maintaining and repairing minor mechanical issues on vehicles and equipment.
• Valid driver's license required to operate a vehicle in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair minor mechanical problems on park equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on trucks and equipment under supervision.
• Maintain the parks shop, employee lounge, storage buildings and yard.
• Order, pickup and deliver parts, materials, fuel and equipment.
• Assist with inventory control and monitor use/purchase of items.
• Support city policies and comply with safety procedures.
