Job summary

The City of Lewisville is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to keep trails and public green spaces in top condition. You will plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and gardens, operate electric-powered equipment, and interact with park visitors in a field-based role.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of landscape-related experience. A Texas Driver’s License Class C is required, with several certifications encouraged within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in tree care or landscaping.
• Must obtain ISA Certified Arborist or Master Naturalist within six months.
• Criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, medical exam, and JPA required.
• Texas Driver's License Class C with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain city trails, corridors, trees, and vegetation.
• Plant and maintain public trees, shrubs, gardens, and planters.
• Operate electric-powered equipment and hand tools.
• Engage with the public while in the field.
• Perform landscaping including seeding, sodding, fertilizing, mulching, weeding, pruning, mowing.
• Assist with event support and other divisions as needed.
• Maintain facilities and perform trash pickup in assigned area.
