Job summary

The City of Lewisville is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to care for trails, trees, shrubs and public landscapes. You will perform routine tasks using electric-powered equipment and hand tools in parks and public spaces, under supervision.

Day-to-day duties include planting, pruning, mowing, weed control, trash pickup and assisting with special events. A valid Texas driver’s license is required and ISA certification must be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months experience in tree care, turf maintenance or landscaping.
• Must obtain ISA Certified Arborist or Master Naturalist or National Green Infrastructure Certification or NALP Horticultural Technician credential within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains City trails, trail corridors, and associated trees and vegetation.
• Plants and maintains public trees according to best practices.
• Performs landscaping tasks including seeding, mowing, pruning, and edging.
• Performs trash pickup and playground maintenance in assigned area.
• Operates and maintains tools and equipment, safely and efficiently.
