Job summary

DESIGNA Access Corporation in Houston, TX, is seeking a Staging and Testing Technician responsible for configuring, testing, and preparing parking access equipment for deployment. You will document configurations and ensure readiness for customer installation while supporting field activities as needed.

The role involves warehouse-based staging, occasional field work, and adherence to safety and quality standards, with periodic travel to project sites for installations and service support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related technical or engineering field preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to diagnose equipment and system-related problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while also collaborating effectively with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Stage and configure parking equipment, hardware, and system components prior to deployment.
• Perform functional testing and quality assurance checks on equipment and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software, electrical, and network-related issues.
• Complete repairs and refurbishment work on returned, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment.
• Maintain accurate staging and testing documentation, equipment records, and inventory tracking.
• Assist with equipment preparation, packaging, and shipment coordination.
• Support warehouse and other in-house operational activities as assigned.
• Coordinate with Operations, Project Management, and technical teams to ensure equipment and systems are prepared according to project requirements and timelines.
• Perform field technician duties approximately one day per week or as operationally required, including installations, maintenance, service calls, repairs, and system troubleshooting.
• Travel periodically to customer and project sites as required for installation, service, and technical support.
