Job summary

The City of Newton is seeking a Meter Technician to install, maintain, and repair parking meters on city streets and collect meter revenues. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather and requires attention to safety and precision in handling equipment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma, MA Driver's License, and a Class B CDL (Class A preferred). Experience with meter repair and tool use is advantageous, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and a valid MA driver’s license.
• Class B CDL is required; Class A is preferred where applicable.
• Experience with meter repair and basic tool usage is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair parking meters on city streets.
• Collect money from meters and assist in revenue counting.
• Perform regular meter maintenance and battery/lock servicing.
• Respond to snow/ice events and other emergencies as needed.
