Job summary

City of Raleigh is seeking an entry-level Parking Services Technician to perform daily maintenance and repair of on-street pay stations in the downtown area. Responsibilities include cleaning cabinets, graffiti removal, and responding to customer concerns while maintaining repair history records.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid NC Class C license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
Less than 1 year experience in maintenance and repair of small equipment, parking meters, or related work.
Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Provides daily monitoring, testing, preventative maintenance, and repair of all on-street pay stations.
Removes pay stations during long construction; reinstalls when projects are complete.
Provides regular cleaning of the cabinets; removes graffiti immediately when discovered; responds to trouble alerts.
Provides guidance/instruction to customers in the proper procedures for operating the pay stations.
Maintains records for inventory items, repair history, communication failures, etc.
Responds to reports of machine malfunctions.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
