Job summary

The City of Raleigh is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician (Level 1) for Raleigh Parking’s meters program in the downtown area. You will perform daily preventative maintenance and repairs on all on-street multi-space pay stations, address customer concerns, and maintain repair records.

An ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, basic tools/electronics knowledge, and a valid NC driver’s license. Outdoor work near traffic with occasional physical tasks is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Less than 1 year in maintenance/repair of small equipment or parking meters.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted.
• Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily monitoring, testing, preventative maintenance, and repair of all on-street pay stations.
• Removes pay stations during long construction; reinstalls when projects are complete.
• Cleans cabinets and removes graffiti; responds to trouble alerts promptly.
• Guides customers on operating pay stations.
• Prepares and maintains repair records and inventory data.
