Bexar County PA is seeking a Parking Garage Attendant for the South Flores Street Garage. The role involves opening/closing the garage, collecting fees, and monitoring security and operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays and on-call hours. Training and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED certificate.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
• Skill in operating a cash register.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to effectively communicate and respond to customer inquiries and complaints; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the public.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must secure and maintain a favorable background check and clearance investigation from the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
• Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test.
• Must be able and willing to attend training at department’s discretion.
• May be assigned to any or various county facilities.
• Must be available to be on call 24-hours a day during required shifts.
• When required, shall work extra hours, holidays, weekends and other shifts.
• Required to work rotating shifts.
• May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek.

Responsibilities

• Collects daily parking fees and monthly parking dues from customers.
• Reconciles cash drawer balances at the end of each shift.
• Deposits daily cash drawer balance when closing the garage.
• Ensures proper operation of ticket machines and card machines.
• Provides customer assistance by giving directions and verifying access cards.
• Monitors garage security cameras for suspicious activity or dangerous conditions.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the parking areas, stairways and elevators.
• Monitors inventory levels and requisitions supplies.
• Performs other duties as required.
