Job summary

City of Stockton seeks a Supervising Parking Enforcement Officer in the Housing, Homelessness, Events & Parking Department. The position involves on-street interaction and supervision of Parking Enforcement Officers, enforcing parking laws, and handling customer service issues. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.

– 5:00 p.m., with some nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Education: high school diploma or GED and three years in parking/code/security enforcement in public settings; supervisory

Qualifications

• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in parking, code and/or security enforcement in a public setting.
• Customer service lead and supervisory experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, schedules, evaluates, trains, and dispatches field personnel, and participates in work involving parking code enforcement and parking control activities.
• Operates computer equipment and other electronic devices; occasional two-way radio operations and logging calls.
• Maintains records pertaining to parking enforcement routes, violations, time zone locations and meters.
• Responds to a variety of public inquiries and complaints regarding parking regulations and enforcement.
• Issues emergency parking permits and delivery permits as required.
• Maintains and issues parking enforcement supplies such as citation books and keys to equipment.
• Prepares reports and maintains statistics on on-street parking subjects.
• Coordinates parking enforcement with other City departments and offices.
