Job summary

City of Compton is seeking a Lead Parking Control Officer to supervise and assist Parking Control Officers, enforce parking regulations, issue citations, and help remove abandoned vehicles from City streets.

The role requires five years of prior Parking Control Officer experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid California driver's license; the incumbent will lead training and coordinate field operations under the Community Improvement Services Director.

Qualifications

• Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; AND at least five (5) years of responsible work experience at the level of Parking Control Officer for the City of Compton is required.
• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Read, interpret, apply and enforce parking regulations, laws and ordinances.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Responds to field issues as requested by Community Improvement Services Director.
• Ensures officers have proper equipment to complete their daily duties and responsibilities.
• Assists in the coordination of training of Parking Control Officers.
