Job summary

Revenue Authority of Prince George’s County is hiring a Parking Enforcement Officer, Impoundment in Largo, MD, to patrol designated areas and identify impoundment-eligible vehicles. The role supports enforcement of parking laws, with duties including reporting, citing violations, and appearing in court if needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience, a valid driver’s license for 5+ years, and the ability to walk and drive for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license for at least 5 years; background check required.
• Ability to drive and walk for long periods (up to 8 hours/day).
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds.
• Able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to read, interpret, apply and enforce parking laws and codes.
• Ability to establish working relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated parking areas to monitor, regulate and control parking.
• Ensure safe driving and walking practices during patrols.
• Maintain logs of booted or released vehicles.
• Cite violations of county codes; appear in court if cases are contested.
• Develop partnerships with tow companies, pay lock, police and other agencies.
• Notify facilities if parking equipment is unsafe or non-functional.
• Ensure vehicles are clean inside and out.
• Represent the agency in a positive, knowledgeable and courteous manner.
