Summary
Park Ranger (Protection) applies laws and regulations to protect visitors and resources of our National Parks, ensuring a safe visitor experience through patrols, emergency response, and investigations.

Likely Entry on Duty: June-July 2025.
Open to the first 50 applicants.

Duties

1. Enforce federal laws, regulations, and policies.
2. Patrol front country and backcountry sites.
3. Respond to emergencies, including medical, search and rescue, and fire suppression.
4. Facilitate visitor stewardship, wilderness management, boundary enforcement, and resource protection.
5. Assist with investigations of felonies, crimes, violations, and accidents.
6. Crowd control activities.

Additional duties for GS-7

1. Conduct law enforcement investigations into misdemeanors independently.
2. Investigate felonies and fatalities under supervision.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Background investigation and favorable adjudication required.
• Must meet age, law enforcement commission, EMT certification, physical fitness, and other conditions as specified.
• Willingness to wear uniform, work on-call, and operate vehicles.
