What You Will Do
  1. Inspect and assess customer requests for pruning or removals
  2. Secure rights-of-way for new line and pole construction
  3. Handle customer complaints related to pruning
  4. Audit tree contractor’s work for compliance
  5. Assist in storm and emergency situations and other projects
  6. Investigate and recommend future R-O-W maintenance needs
  7. Operate forestry computer programs and record systems
  8. Communicate with clients, contractors, landowners, and the public
  9. Promote good public relations
  10. Drive a company vehicle safely
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
What You Need To Have
  • Ability to read maps, identify local tree species, and growth rates
  • Knowledge of Utility Vegetation Management practices
  • Ability to hike rights-of-way and drive for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors alone in various weather and terrains
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Adaptability to change
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
What Would Be Amazing To Have
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Six months+ UVM experience or forestry experience with equipment and tree trimming
  • ISA Certified Arborist or ability to gain certification within 6 months
  • Experience with GIS software/technology
  • Bilingual in Spanish (a plus)
Working Environment

Work outdoors alone, patrolling utility lines via vehicle and foot, in remote and urban areas, facing various physical and weather conditions, including noise, dust, and hazards. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Must have physical ability to walk up to 10 miles daily, stand, sit, operate vehicles, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 lbs. and operating field equipment. Good hearing, vision, and communication skills are required.
