Job description

We are currently seeking a Transmission Work Planner to join our team. We are looking for an energetic professional who enjoys working outdoors and values the freedom of working independently. What You Will Do
  • Inspect and assess customer requests for pruning or removals.
  • Secure rights-of-way for new line and pole construction.
  • Handle customer complaints related to pruning services.
  • Audit tree contractor’s work for compliance with specifications.
  • Assist in storm and emergency situations and other line clearance projects.
  • Investigate and recommend future R-O-W maintenance needs.
  • Operate forestry computer programs and record systems.
  • Communicate daily with utility clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.
  • Promote and maintain good public relations.
  • Drive safely to work locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Have
  • Ability to read maps, identify local tree species, and growth rates.
  • Knowledge of Utility Vegetation Management practices.
  • Ability to hike ROWs and drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to change.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
What Would Be Amazing To Have
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
  • Six months or more UVM experience (preferred).
  • ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
  • Experience with GIS software/technology is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Working Environment

Work independently outdoors, patrolling utility lines by vehicle and foot in various locations and terrains. Exposure to weather, noise, dust, grease, and hazardous traffic conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, operate vehicles, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 60 lbs. and operating field equipment. Good vision and hearing are required for safety and communication.
