Job summary

The City of Springfield, TN is seeking a hands-on Park Maintenance Worker to support maintenance, patrolling, and preservation of the city park system.

Responsibilities include enforcing park rules, assisting park patrons, opening/closing parks, reporting issues, and performing custodial tasks. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid Tennessee driver's license. Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with some maintenance/repair experience.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and ability to pass a physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Patrols park locations to ensure park rules are followed.
• Assist park patrons and provide information as needed.
• Open and close all parks at designated times.
• Report vandalism or safety issues to authorities.
• Perform general grounds and building cleaning; empty trash and replace liners.
• Clean and stock park restrooms; maintain dugout facilities.
• Join special assignments or events as needed.
• Perform other related work as required.
