Job summary

The County of Santa Clara in California seeks a Park Program Coordinator to design, develop, and implement park programs that serve diverse populations. You will work to engage community organizations, agencies, and the public, coordinating various events and day-to-day park operations.

You will plan and evaluate programs, lead staff and volunteers, and develop partnerships for community outreach and special events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of work experience coordinating or leading programs, projects, or planning large-scale events.
One year of required experience in the specialized program field when necessary for operation of the program.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating park operations and maintenance.
Coordinate interactions with partners, volunteers, staff, contractors, licensees, and lease-holders.
Plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and develop recommendations to improve park programs and events.
Schedule, assign, train, and instruct staff, volunteers, and docents.
Recruit orients, evaluates, and recognizes volunteers, contractors, and docents.
Develop and implement service agreements and contracts; evaluate progress.
Collaborate with staff and partners to schedule programs and events.
Explain park policies to partners and others under contracts; prepare reports.
