Job summary

County of Santa Clara's Park and Recreation Department is seeking a Parks Program Coordinator to research, coordinate, implement, and evaluate park programs, special events, outreach activities, and day-to-day operations.

The role oversees the Cultural Resources Program, preserving archaeological and historic resources and engaging with communities, including Native American Tribes, while ensuring program goals align with departmental missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and two years coordinating programs or planning large-scale events.
• One year of specialized program field experience required.
• Advanced First Aid and CPR certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and facilitating park operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate interactions with partners, volunteers, staff, contractors and licensors.
• Develop and evaluate park programs, events, and community outreach.
• Schedule, assign, train, and supervise staff, volunteers, and docents.
• Prepare reports and correspondence for departmental programs.
