Job summary

The Department of Conservation and Recreation in Virginia seeks a Business Administration Manager at New River Trail State Park to oversee enterprise, concession, and rental operations, including gift shops, equipment rentals, and livery. The role also manages the Inn at Foster Falls contract and park operations, ensuring seamless daily functions.

You will drive business and marketing initiatives, manage finances, staff training, procurement, and community relations while supporting park goals

Qualifications

• Experience coaching, developing, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and managing personnel.
• Experience in retail management including product selection, pricing, presentation, inventory management, point-of-sale systems, and sales analysis.
• Experience managing property, including grounds, housekeeping, building and facility maintenance, and rental equipment.
• Experience managing contracts and contractual services.
• Experience and understanding of managing visitors’ expectations and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operations management for New River Trail, including maintenance, rental/concessions, special events management, merchandise and retail management, and day use areas.
• Assist with the management of the park's business administration, finances, visitor experience, volunteers, personnel, and community relations.
• Lead business and marketing initiatives.
• Assist with routine park operations, including procurement of goods and services, budgeting, developing and providing staff training, engaging with the community, and other duties as assigned.
• Be responsible for ensuring and maintaining continuity of operations and adherence to the goals and objectives of the park and division in the absence of the Park Manager.
