Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform general labor in parks and athletic complexes under direct supervision. The role includes operating equipment, mowing, irrigation, field prep, and event setup.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe park and athletic field environments.
• Maintain park grounds, facilities, fields, playgrounds, and public areas.
• Park maintenance tasks: litter removal, trash/debris cleanup, irrigation, field prep, painting, fertilizing, seeding, tree planting.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of park assets.
• Assist with graffiti removal.
• Assist with setup of special events and park programming.
• Operate light and heavy vehicles and equipment safely.
• Perform routine snow and ice removal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
