Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in the Amarillo District is seeking Transportation Maintenance Tech I, II, or III in the Pampa Maintenance Office to perform outdoor road maintenance, operate light and heavy equipment, and support traffic control and incident response.

The role offers full-time hours, a daytime shift with potential nights/weekends, and a benefits package including retirement plans, health premiums, and professional development.

Qualifications

• TMT I = No experience required
• TMT II = 1 year experience
• TMT III = 2 years experience

Responsibilities

• Assists in identifying, repairing and installing signs, delineators, mailbox supports and posts; performs basic welding as needed; uses/moves equipment/tools, materials and products.
• Inspects barricades to ensure compliance with barricade standards.
• Maintains highways and rights-of-way; performs roadway repairs; erects and repairs guard rails, highway markers and signs; hauls materials and equipment to job sites.
• Operates light equipment such as a front-end loader, pneumatic roller, rotary broom, spreader box, backhoe, street sweeper, and mower.
• Performs PMI inspections, routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment and completes various required reports.
