Job summary

The City of Oakland Park seeks an entry-level to semi-skilled laborer for parks, streets, and public lands upkeep. You will work in a crew, or independently on some tasks, and may operate related equipment as needed.

Responsibilities include event setup, basic maintenance, landscape restoration, tool use, and safety inspections. Regular attendance and ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of labor experience.
• Must hold a Florida Driver’s License.
• Intermediate MOT certification preferred (work zone).

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor for loading/unloading materials and supplies.
• Sets up for events in parks.
• Performs minor building maintenance tasks.
• Restores disturbed concrete, asphalt, and landscape areas.
• Operates hand and power tools and related equipment.
• Assists with other crews and follows written/verbal instructions.
• Maintains aesthetics: trash pickup, cleaning, turf, trees, and landscaping.
• Inspects work areas for safety and quality.
• Assists with debris removal from canals, parks, and rights-of-way.
