Job summary

County Of Albemarle seeks a Regional Parks Maintenance Worker for the Northern District in Charlottesville, VA. The role maintains park grounds, facilities, infrastructure, and equipment, and is designated essential with after-hours recall for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Two years’ experience in motorized equipment operation and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise seasonal workers, volunteers, contractors and community service workers.
• Coordinate daily maintenance of park buildings, grounds, fields, facilities and equipment.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment, including snow removal and emergency gear.
• Instruct staff on safe operation of equipment and handling of materials per OSHA guidelines.
• Assist in budget planning and procurement for equipment and repairs.
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as litter removal, mowing, turf management, and basic repairs.
