Job summary

The Office of State Parks in Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Repairer at North Toledo Bend State Park in Zwolle. The role focuses on keeping facilities and grounds safe and well-maintained, with responsibilities across building repairs, equipment maintenance, and grounds work.

Expect duties such as routine preventive maintenance, operation of park vehicles and equipment, and assisting with custodial tasks.

Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, maintenance of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Responsibilities

• Makes general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioners, heating systems, and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting tasks.
• Maintains and repairs motorized equipment, tune-ups, and parts replacement; determine extent of damage and repairs.
• Operates and maintains a wide variety of hand held equipment, motorized vehicles, tractors, etc.
• Repairs and treats floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, carpets, etc.
• Performs minor troubleshooting and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, etc.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings operate efficiently.
• Operates large equipment and vehicles; conducts park checks and seasonal duties.
• Assist with custodial duties to keep facilities clean and sanitary, including cabins, pavilions, and common areas.
• Maintain grounds and trails, including trimming trees, clearing dead wood, road maintenance, etc.

Education

One year of experience or training in building construction trades/maintenance or park operations
