Job summary

Metroparks Toledo is seeking a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Assistant to help keep our parks clean, safe, and natural. You will assist with grounds and facilities at multiple parks, supporting the Park Services team in daily tasks and special events.

Responsibilities include cleaning, landscaping, mowing, and light maintenance, with opportunities to advance to roles like Custodian or Park Technician. This is a part-time seasonal position with a set schedule and outdoor work in all weather

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior work experience required.
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, pick up litter, trash removal, and assist with special event setup/cleanup.
• Maintain park grounds: paint/stain park features and amenities, complete trail improvements.
• Perform horticultural duties: mowing, weeding, watering, pruning, planting.
• Control invasive species under supervision of a licensed applicator by applying pesticides/herbicides.
• Safely operate park vehicles between assignments.
• Respond to customer questions and feedback courteously.
• Other Park District duties as assigned.
