Job summary

Metroparks Toledo is seeking a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Assistant to help keep parks clean, safe, and natural. You may clean restrooms, clear trails, paint signs, and support the Park Services team, while helping maintain grounds and facilities.

The role offers a set monthly schedule, opportunities to advance to roles like Custodian or Park Technician, and exposure to a wide range of outdoor maintenance tasks. Employment runs March through December across multiple parks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: No prior work experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Year-Round Park Services staff with maintenance tasks.
• Maintain the park grounds, including painting and staining features.
• Support horticultural duties: mowing, weeding, pruning, planting.
• Operate park vehicles and travel between locations.
• Respond to visitor questions in a courteous and timely way.
• Other Park District duties as assigned.
