Job summary

Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service seeks Park Technician Lead to head maintenance across state parks and forests. You will supervise grounds, facilities and equipment, lead or train crews, and coordinate small projects.

Duties include opening/closing facilities, assisting visitors, and supporting events. The role involves carpentry, electrical, masonry and plumbing tasks, plus operating power tools and heavy machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience multitasking and working independently.
• Experience leading work crews or volunteers in project completion.
• Experience operating tractors and heavy machinery is preferred.
• Ability to use a computer to fill out forms and utilize email.
• Education: high school diploma or GED; substitutions allowed for forestry/wildlife fields.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain grounds, facilities, and equipment in state parks.
• Lead seasonal employees and volunteers, schedule work assignments.
• Oversee projects, write specifications for renovations, and inspect contractors.
• Assist with day-to-day park operations and respond to visitor needs.
• Open/close park facilities and support special events as required.
