Job summary

Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service is seeking qualified candidates for the Park Maintenance Program Supervisor role. The position involves direct supervision of staff and responsibilities for maintenance of park grounds, facilities, and equipment across statewide locations.

Occasional evenings, weekends and holiday work may be required. Primary duties include administration tasks such as scheduling, time approvals, and fuel reporting, with opportunities to contribute

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Five years of experience in the skilled maintenance or construction trades, e.g. Electrician, Plumber or maintenance of a park, forest or wildlife facility.
• Notes: substitutions allowed for forestry/wildlife/park management education and military service experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct maintenance personnel with on-site supervision and clear instructions.
• Perform general park maintenance including basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, grounds maintenance and restroom upkeep.
• Prepare specifications for contracts, procure supplies, track warranty agreements, supervise contractors, and monitor budgets.
