Job summary

The City of Santee is seeking a Parks & Irrigation Technician to perform semi-skilled and skilled landscape maintenance and irrigation repair. Under supervision, you will operate park maintenance equipment and support beautification of parks, playgrounds, and public facilities.

You will handle irrigation systems, timers, sprinkler heads, and maintenance of equipment; assist with general grounds upkeep and building repairs as needed. A valid California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience: One (1) year of recent irrigation and landscape work.
• Desirable training in irrigation maintenance.
• Experience with Calsense irrigation systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains landscaped areas including turf, shrubs, and trees.
• Maintains and repairs irrigation systems, adjusts timers, repairs heads and lines.
• Operates a variety of landscape maintenance equipment.
• Performs general grounds cleaning and minor building repairs as needed.
• Responds to public inquiries and provides information.
