Job summary

Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain parks, assist with irrigation and general maintenance at Zube Park in Texas. You will operate small engine equipment, mow, prune, clean restrooms, and perform end-of-day duties while representing Precinct 4 with professionalism.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or related experience), valid Texas driver’s license, and willingness to work in all weather conditions. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or six months related groundskeeping experience.
• Experience operating tractors, backhoes, or skid-steers is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is nice for community interactions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of small engine equipment.
• Mow, trim, weed, and edge grass and landscaped areas.
• Prune or remove shrubs and trees, including deadfall.
• Maintain cleanliness and litter control in park grounds.
• Clean restrooms and dispose of trash receptacles.
• Repair fences, gates, walls, and walkways.
• Paint building interiors and exteriors, pavilions, and parking lots.
• Assist with irrigation system maintenance.
• Be available for emergencies as required.
