Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to support parks and recreation by performing routine grounds tasks across multiple facilities.

You will operate mowing units, edgers, chainsaws, and rototillers, work in teams or alone, and help with inspections and event prep. A valid Texas driver’s license and at least six months of experience are required; no degree is needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow basic written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine ground maintenance tasks.
• Operate mowing units, lawn mowers, edger, chainsaw, and rototiller.
• Work as a team member or individually to meet work requirements.
• Assist with park maintenance quality inspections.
• Prepare for special events and other park activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
