Job summary

Monroe County is seeking staff to analyze work orders, plan efficient jobs, and prepare cost estimates for materials. You will order supplies, transport to sites, and ensure safety in maintenance of parks, beaches, and fields.

The role involves operating tractors, mowers, trucks, golf carts and hand tools, plus some custodial tasks and event support. A valid Florida driver’s license is required; CDL and playground inspector certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related work experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License; CDL preferred; Certified Playground Inspector preferred.
• Ability to perform varied maintenance tasks including landscaping and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze work orders and develop cost-effective plans to complete jobs.
• Purchase materials with PO numbers and handle related paperwork.
• Maintain and repair playgrounds, parks, courts, fields and beaches; operate tools and equipment.
• Ensure safety, conduct inspections, and assist with event setups and custodial duties.
