Job summary

Monroe County in Key West, FL is seeking a Maintenance Worker 2 to perform day-to-day maintenance and repair of county parks, beaches, boat ramps, and grounds. The role involves operating tractors, lawnmowers, trucks, hand tools, and other equipment, with heavy physical tasks.

Responsibilities include keeping work areas clean and safe, completing required paperwork, performing landscaping, pruning, mowing, and athletic field prep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Checks and maintains tools and equipment periodically, ensuring safe operation.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized; uses safety cones and signage as required.
• Performs landscaping tasks: pruning, mowing, and athletic field prep.
• Operates tractors, lawnmowers, trucks, hand tools, and other equipment.
• Completes daily paperwork and possible night/weekend duties as needed.
