Job summary

Monroe County Board of County Commissioners seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform repairs and routine maintenance on county facilities and grounds. You will analyze work orders, plan efficient job execution, and prepare material lists with prices for purchase orders, then procure and transport materials to job sites.

The role involves operating and maintaining tools and heavy equipment, mowing lawns, pruning vegetation, and assisting with furniture moves, as well as voting machine and ramp

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes work orders and develops an efficient plan to complete the job.
• Provides a list of materials with prices for purchase orders.
• Purchases materials with PO and transports them to site.
• Checks and maintains tools and equipment for safety and operation.
• Operates and maintains lawnmowers, tractors, trucks and hand tools.
• Prunes trees and bushes, uses weed eater, and mows grass.
• Operates a leaf blower and removes trash daily.
• Assists with furniture relocations and set-up.
• Assists with voting machine and ramp delivery, setup, and disassembly.
• Supports setup of buildings/grounds for events.
