Job summary

Milwaukee County Parks is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to perform daily park maintenance, ensure safe facilities, and preserve assets. Responsibilities include grounds care, field setup, facility cleaning, and general upkeep across park units.

The role requires Wisconsin residency, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED, with opportunities to obtain CDL and First Aid/CPR within six months.

Qualifications

• Resident of Wisconsin at time of application.
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Grounds/landscape/park maintenance experience.
• Able to push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months.
• Willing to obtain First Aid and CPR within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain equipment/tools used in job duties.
• Maintain park green spaces (mowing, trimming, fertilization, irrigation, planting).
• Set up and maintain fields and facilities to standards for competitive play; assist with ice rinks.
• Clean and maintain buildings/pavilions/clubhouses/pool buildings, perform floor care and graffiti removal.
• Maintain roadways/parking areas, snow removal, salting.
• Operate pools (splashes/wading) and assist with deep-well pool prep.
• Participate in special project teams and community outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
