Job summary

The Waukesha County Park System seeks a Lead Park Seasonal to perform manual labor in maintenance, construction, and repair of park facilities across multiple park locations. This role involves operating mowers, tractors, weed eaters, and other equipment while ensuring safety and quality in outdoor settings.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to withstand exposure to variable and unfavorable weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Performs unskilled and semiskilled manual labor for park facilities maintenance and repair, operating equipment and using hand tools.
Cleans restrooms and removes litter around parks.
Maintains lawns and landscape, waters, prunes, plants, and applies herbicides and pesticides safely.
Occasionally assists with events, parking cars, directing traffic, or collecting fees.
May perform concession work, painting duties, and other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as needed.
