Job summary

Milwaukee County is seeking an Airport Maintenance Worker at General Mitchell Airport to perform maintenance on roads, grounds, runways, taxiways, parking areas and buildings. The role requires operation of motorized equipment and adherence to FAA standards.

The position demands a WI resident with a valid WI driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of semi-skilled mechanical/grounds experience. CDL-B and Class 1 Airport Driver licenses are required within six months.

• At least two years of semi-skilled mechanical, building and grounds experience
• Ability to lift/carry up to 60 lbs. and push/pull up to 60 lbs

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain motorized equipment including vans, trucks, loaders, backhoes, skid steer, graders, sweepers, and snow removal equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repairs and improvements to airport roads, grounds, airfield pavement and fence lines.
• Perform maintenance to airport buildings and fixtures.
• Participate in training and train others; assist in training maintenance personnel.
