Job summary

Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association in Polk County is seeking a Parks and Trails Maintenance Technician to maintain parks, trails, boat landings, and recreation areas year-round. You will perform landscaping, facilities upkeep, safety inspections, and equipment operation under supervision.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid CDL, pesticide certifications, and several years of parks or maintenance experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance.
Valid Class A CDL required (obtainable within six months).
Pesticide Certification Categories 3.0 (Turf & Landscape) & 6.0 (ROW & Natural Areas) required (obtainable within six months).
Three+ years experience in parks or facilities maintenance or related field.
Three+ years experience in equipment operation.
Some formal education or training in the field is desired.

Responsibilities

Performs landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, mulching, and weeding.
Cleans and maintains recreation facilities, restrooms, and pavilions.
Prepares facilities and grounds for pavilion rentals and special events.
Inspects parks and facilities for safety and maintenance needs.
Operates trucks and a range of machinery.
Performs minor repairs to park buildings and facilities.
Installs and inspects playground equipment and amenities.
May lead seasonal staff and coordinate tasks.
