Job summary

UW-Parkside is seeking a Facilities Technician I to maintain and repair campus facilities and grounds. The role supports basic mechanical repairs, custodial tasks, and grounds and security functions, working independently and with others.

The position follows a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, indoors predominately, with exposure to dust and noise. Compensation is $20 per hour, and a background check is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Acquire and maintain a valid Driver’s License within 3 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
• Sets up and tears down equipment for institutional meetings and events
• Escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
• Utilizes basic equipment to repair and maintain basic machinery, equipment, and facility property under close supervision to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
• Assists with inventory and distribution of deliveries to appropriate entities under close supervision
• Assists with routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
