Job summary

Glen Ellyn Park District seeks a Superintendent of Park and Facility Operations to lead maintenance, parks, trails, and facilities, ensuring safety and accessibility for the public. Oversees staff and contractors, plans budgets, and coordinates events.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, CPRP preferred, CDL license, and strong leadership. Exempt position with daytime hours and some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7-10 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
• CPRP, OSHA, CPO certifications are preferred.
• IL Class A CDL is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification will be provided by GEPD.
• Ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee parks, grounds, trails, and facility maintenance for safety and accessibility.
• Develop short- and long-range plans as part of district strategy.
• Supervise staff and manage payroll, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Coordinate contracts, service vendors, and project work.
• Collaborate with departments and the public for events and projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality of service.
