Job summary

Lisle Park District seeks a Superintendent of Parks and Facilities to provide strategic leadership and oversight of parks, buildings, fleet, and infrastructure. You will plan, supervise, and improve maintenance programs, ensure safety and compliance, and manage capital projects.

The role requires advanced judgment, proactive planning, and collaborative leadership to steward staff, resources, and district assets in alignment with the Strategic Master Plan and district goals.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree as specified
• CPRP preferred
• Minimum five years progressive park district experience

Responsibilities

• Directs and administers maintenance programs for parks, facilities, buildings, grounds, fleet and mechanical systems.
• Oversees preventative maintenance schedules, lifecycle planning, and asset replacement strategies.
• Evaluates and administers park/facility improvements and capital projects.
• Develops and implements goals from the Strategic Master Plan and annual work plans.
• Coordinates permits, plans and bids for construction projects.
• Manages contracts, consultants, vendors and contractors with compliance.
• Leads staff to ensure high-quality service per employee handbook.
• Oversees recruitment, training and professional development.
• Conducts performance evaluations and enforces policies.
• Promotes safe, accountable workplace culture.
• Pursues alternative revenues via grants and collaborations.
• Builds relationships with organizations and government agencies.
• Prepares and oversees annual budget plans; monitors revenue/expenses.
• Oversees district-wide safety program; engages with media and public.
