Job summary

Park District Of Oak Park is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager to lead maintenance and operations across all district facilities. You will develop long‑range plans, oversee budgets, and supervise staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

The role requires a 4‑year degree and extensive experience in facility maintenance, with emphasis on HVAC, electrical and systems upkeep. The position is full‑time in Oak Park, with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management or related field.
• 8+ years of experience managing preventive, predictive and general maintenance programs in a facility setting.
• 4+ years of employee supervision.
• 4+ years of progressive work experience in aquatic and/or ice rink operations.
• Experience in HVAC, electrical systems, pumps and mechanical systems preventive maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license; subject to random drug and alcohol testing program.
• Experience in operating Microsoft Office Suite and the web.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare financial records and reports.
• Experience in public speaking.
• Acts independently and empowers others.
• Demonstrates problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision to Maintenance & Operations Manager.
• Develop long‑range facility maintenance, lifecycle replacement, and asset management plans.
• Administer maintenance program through Work Order Software including preventive maintenance.
• Promote facilities' role in community health and alignment with strategic plans.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, payroll and evaluate staff.
• Ensure safety inspections of facilities and equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor staff and support training and development.
• Communicate operational issues to the Director and assist with bids and procurement.
