Job summary

The Glenview Park District is hiring a Tradesworker for Park & Facility Services - East in Glenview, IL. This full-time, year-round role requires skilled maintenance and leadership of building trades to keep parks, facilities, and infrastructure safe and well‑operated.

The position emphasizes inspections, repairs, project coordination, budgeting input, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with an associate degree or professional certification in a building trade.
• Minimum five years of relevant building trades experience.
• Preferred professional certifications in a skilled building trade.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on parks, facilities, and infrastructure.
• Lead and coordinate maintenance projects, assign tasks, and provide technical guidance.
• Diagnose issues, plan repairs or replacements, and assist with budgeting and cost estimates.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with staff, customers, and stakeholders and provide excellent service.
• Promote safe work practices and proper PPE usage; report safety concerns.
• Support environmental stewardship through sustainable practices and policies.
